With about the same number of months and miles in service as the GT-R, our long-term M3 has thus far accrued a maintenance tally of $0, a far cry from the Nissan's tab. Better yet, the Bimmer's on-board diagnostic computer informs us the first service, which is complimentary, by the way, as are all the maintenance visits within the first four years or 50,000 miles, is not needed until around 10,000 miles. These perks, naturally, make piloting this heavenly machine that much more enjoyable.

Per senior editor Ron Kiino, "You've got to love a sport sedan that can endure numerous flogs along winding canyon roads and the daily grind of five-mile-per-hour stop-and-go L.A. traffic, yet does so with no hint of trouble, at no additional cost, and for an extended period of time. Like the driving experience, that's remarkable."
