2001 Los Angeles Auto Show
Chevrolet proudly displays the larger-than-life golden caliper trophy representing its claim to Motor Trend's 2001 Truck of the Year award with the mighty Silverado Heavy-Duty pickup. As we wrote in the February 2001 issue, "the Chevrolet Silverado HD won us over with its do-it-all portfolio of power, passenger room, cargo capacity, feature levels, and towing prowess." The massive, full-size, commercial-grade truck proved extremely capable in our exhaustive testing. On the show floor, the truck dwarfs the car-based crossover vehicles and stands tall as a pure, American truck.
