At first glance, there's not too much changing on the redesigned 2007 BMW X3, which is coming shortly to BMW lots and runs just south of $39,000 before the options begin. Most of the exterior changes are cosmetic, including body-colored bumpers, slight grill and exhaust tip reworking, along with optional xenon headlights. Inside, the interior, one of the biggest complaints about the first-gen model, has been reworked in an effort to give it more upscale appeal. X3 for the U.S. now features only one block, a 3.0-liter inline six with 260-hp and a max 225 lb-ft of torque, moving the vehicle from 0 to 60 in a tick under seven seconds, according to BMW. A six-speed manual is the base tranny, and a six-speed automatic (a no-cost option) replaces the five-speed unit.
