Honda's popular CR-V, now in its third generation, is transitioning from its SUV roots to something more akin to a crossover, clearly positioning itself right in the center of an expanding but crowded marketplace. Honda is making due with high revving inline 4-cylinder engine which produces 166-horsepower rather than the V6s of its competitors but don't fear. Honda's four-bangers often out horsepower the larger V6s while delivering better fuel mileage. As it moves up market, with its stylish new skin and new creature comforts, it still retains the trademark vertical tail lamps running up the D-pillar; you'll know from the rear when you encounter your first new CR-V on the freeway.
