This 2007 Toyota "Ultimate" FJ Cruiser concept vehicle on display at SEMA was developed by Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine to be the "ultimate expedition, exploration and excitement machine" designed for off-road adventures. Virtually every aspect of the FJ Cruiser sport/utility vehicle has been re-worked to produce this "Ultimate" version. The 4.0-liter V-6 engine has been equipped with a URD centrifugal type supercharger, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and Advance Adapters' four-speed atlas transfer case. A Flowmaster exhaust system has also been incorporated.

An All-Pro Off-Road Custom Suspension and solid-axle conversion kit has been adopted, along with Walker Evans Racing coil over shocks. BFGoodrich 39.5-inch Krawler tires are used, along with Howe Performance ram assist steering.

Other changes include the addition of Tom Woods Custom driveshafts, Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 Axles, Yukon Gear axle shafts and 5.38:1 ring and pinion gears, CTM and Ox U-joints, Eaton Detroit Lockers, and Warn Locking Hubs. Fab Fours bumpers mount a Warn winch, Poison Spyder Custom's roll cage, beadlock wheels and modified rock sliders, and KC Customs paint and graphics complete the "Ultimate" package.
