General Motors has announced pricing for its new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, with many of the new models priced the same as the trucks they're replacing.
Production of the trucks begins on Oct. 2 and the most popular versions of the vehicles are expected to hit dealer showrooms in early November.
Two-wheel drive versions of the Silverado and Sierra extended cabs equipped with a 4.8-liter V-8 will start at $23,605 with four-wheel drive models starting at $26,705. Two-wheel drive crew cab versions of the Silverado and Sierra with the same 4.8-liter engine start at $27,000. Four-wheel drive models will start at $30,100. All prices include a $900 shipping charge.
"Nearly half of the 2007 Silverado and Sierra models are within $300 of the models they replace," GM North America President Troy Clarke announced just prior to the State Fair of Texas, where the trucks are receiving a full unveiling.
Also new for 2007 is GM's five-year / 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which includes courtesy transportation and roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty.
