The all-new 2007 Nissan Altima sedan went on sale earlier this month, but Nissan isn't done yet. A coupe variant of the popular sedan will be going on sale in the summer of next year as a 2008 model.
A big change is a shortening of the wheelbase and overall length of the car. According to Nissan, the change was made to give the coupe better proportions, but instead it gives the car somewhat of a shrunk-in-the-wash look.
Engine choices will remain the same, either a 2.5-liter four and 3.5-liter V6, though a slight power increase would not be surprising. Transmission choices don't change either, with both engines being offered with a CVT and 6-speed manual.
The coupe also receives the sedan's long list of options which includes push-button start, a Bluetooth hand-free phone system, and touch-screen navigation system.
Nissan isn't talking dollars yet, but expect the Altima coupe to cost a slightly more than the sedan. With the release of the Altima coupe, just one question remains. Will there be a convertible?
