Ford delivers outdoor adventure to disabled customers via the customized F-150 Scout, a truck boasting not only the latest in off-road gear but an assortment of state-of-the-art mobility accessories as well.

"The Scout is a great demonstration of how an aftermarket supplier can transform our F-150 FX4 SuperCab into a go-anywhere mobility truck that exudes confidence and style."

The Project Go Mobility Ford/Eddie Bauer Expedition features a next-generation positional backup camera and redesigned center console for easy transfer from passenger seat to driver's seat.

Ford's Mobility Motoring Program has teamed up with Ride-Rite, a Carmel, Indiana division of BFS Diversified, and Bruno Independent Living Aids of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, to create the F-150 FX4 Scout. All three companies are working together to demonstrate the latest technologies hitting the mobility equipment aftermarket and to highlight the F-150's adaptability to such innovations.

The 2004 F-150 boasts several user-friendly features to enhance its appeal among all truck buyers, let alone those with disabilities. Larger exterior door handles and lowered running boards allow for easier access to and from the vehicle, and a tailgate assist feature comes standard, simplifying tailgate operation for all owners. In addition, an effortless hand-held control combined with the standard F-150 battery operates a Bruno Cab-Sider Lift to facilitate loading and unloading.

Wells-Engberg's CT-100 Rotary Hand Operated Driving Controls provide simultaneous one-hand control of the throttle and brake. The twist-grips are ergonomically located to the left of the steering column. Optional Bluetooth technology lets owners enjoy hands-free access to their Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), cell-phones, and other devices.
