Unofficial guide to the automotive future

2010 Audi A4: Redesign.

2010 Cadillac flagship: Cadillac executives want a flagship model for the domestic luxury brand, but GM finances and market conditions may torpedo this dream.

2010 Dodge Challenger: Dodge will lead the cars built off the next-generation Chrysler LX platform--called LY--with a new Challenger ponycar for the 2010 model year. The Challenger will be a true Mustang-fighter, with 350-horsepower Hemi V-8 and 3.5-liter, 250-horsepower V-6 versions going up against the Mustang coupe. And given Chrysler's ambitions for its performance franchise, you can expect a 6.1-liter, 425-horse SRT version as well. The LY platform is described as an evolution of the current LX underpinnings for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum and Charger.

2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class: Freshening.

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo: Special Turbo S edition offered.

2010 Porsche Panamera: To be called Panamera, the new car will be a premium-class sports coupe with four seats, four doors, and a choice of front-mounted engines driving the rear wheels. Power will come from the Cayenne's V-8 with output expected to be upwards of 500 hp.

2010 Saab sport wagon: All-new model.

2010 Subaru Legacy: Redesign.

2010 Volvo SUT: A sport/utility truck is rumored to be spun off the XC90.
