Motor Trend: 2001 Acura MDX

All great things must come to an end, and such is the case for our year with Acura's MDX. Our One-Year Tester is a true multitasker, equally at home on Rodeo Drive or tackling light off-road trails. It's a solid balance between sport and utility, with a dash of luxury car thrown in. While most of our editors have kept the fold-flat third-row seating in the stowed position, it's easy to flip 'em up when additional passenger space is needed. The logbook is filling with notations about the MDX's talents: "The MDX is the soccer tournament hero," wrote Truck Trend Editor Mark Williams. "Took six girls to lunch and back with ease. It looks huge outside, feels huge inside, drives like a small car, and has the versatility to make it the right vehicle for those with an active lifestyle." We had the 15K service performed early (at 14,673), which included an oil and filter change, chassis lube, tire rotation, and vehicle inspection. Total cost: $155.92. We have no new gripes since our last report, except that we wish we didn't have to hand the keys back to Acura.
