When it comes to deciding on weekend rides, we've had a few scuffles at the MT officesespecially when vying for the Car of the Year G35 Coupe. It's no wonder: a bona-fide GT that comfortably carries four adults and their luggage, while delivering sports-carlike performance and handling. We prefer our coupe's thickly bolstered seats to the sedans' buckets, and the snick-snick shifter feels oh-so-right when flinging the G through the cogs. Senior Feature Editor Mead took it to the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, noting, "The seats in the G35 Coupe are fantastic for long drives. After four straight hours behind the wheel, I had no aches or crampscould have easily driven for another stint." Our complaints so far are few: The driver-seat height switch sometimes sticks in the "up" position; we're still uneasy with the design of the climate and radio controls; and the funky-angled, multiribbed oil dipstick is difficult to remove/replace. Though we've logged only 5400 miles so far, we have no real problems to report.
