Our fuel-mileage champ 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid is getting a workout. One weekend, it's Los Angeles to San Diego, back to L.A., over to Manhattan Beach, and back to L.A.--all on about 9.5 gallons. Then it's off to Lake Tahoe where it stretched 477 miles out of a tank with 30 miles still left in it. This included climbing several mountain summits over Highway 395.

On the return trip back to L.A., it traveled 450 miles on 11 gallons. "It doesn't matter if you get 35 or 40 mpg, it's way better than most cars of this size and power output," notes one editor.
