Our "ground-bound Beechcraft," as editor-at-large St. Antoine calls it, has been making waves on some long, yet fast and efficient trips--that is, measured in travel time and fuel economy. St. Antoine does Westwood, California, to Furnace Creek in Death Valley in 3.5 hours. Senior photog Kiewicz drives to Nevada, where he logs 450 miles at a steady 75 mph and yields 27 mpg. Another editor notes an indicated 177 mph on the digital speedo on a desolate stretch of road.
