Most important to Chevrolet history was the Corvette Nomad, based on the 115.0-inch-wheelbase standard Chevrolet chassis. The brilliant Carl Renner-penned design would carry over almost intact to become the '55 Chevy Nomad. In fact, it was this car that convinced Chevrolet to put the next Nomad into production, and in the process creating an American classic.
