After three years of living in the U.S., art director Andy Foster finally got pulled over by the LAPD. "And what a surprise-they stopped me in the Shelby GT!" he exclaims. "I gave the Shelby a little extra throttle to get through an amber traffic light," he notes, "and the growl from the engine caught the attention of an officer, who followed me for four city blocks before turning on her lights and siren."

Ticket? "Luckily, no citation. She just gave me a warning-'Take your hot little car and slow down, mister, before someone gets hurt!'"

To prevent the Shelby from getting hurt, road-test editor Scott Mortara took it in to New Century Ford in San Gabriel for a 7500-mile service, an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation that cost $84.54. The Shelby also went back to the dealer to diagnose a rattle coming from the rear of the vehicle.
