According to associate Web editor Kirill Ougarov, "Between the Shelby's cool factor and throaty engine noise, you almost forget about its bumpy, shaky ride, underwhelming stereo, and it-is-what-it-is interior."

Other complaints? "The old-school Hurst shifter feels like a giant lever that opens a drawbridge. Plus, the nut on the bottom should be concealed better and is probably keeping a running tally of how many bits of skin it's taken off staffers' fingers. The uninspiring handling gives the sense that the car lacks grip in the corners."

He concludes, "You'd be hard-pressed to find a car that feels more at home cruising PCH, but $49,000 and change is too much cheddar for what amounts to a Mustang GT Convertible with a few bolt-ons and a body-kit."
