"What the heck is Honda doing with the Accord's styling," queries road-test editor Scott Mortara, who thinks Honda stylists have managed to "devolve the design of this car." Nor does he care for the sedan's interior design.

"The ergonomics are a mess. Dryden counted 68 buttons on the center stack-way too many." Mortara does dig the Accord coupe's lines. "The coupe looks so much better, as it doesn't have the bulging front headlamp lenses of the sedan. The powertrain still feels good."

So does the steering, as per assistant art director Mike Royer, who declares the Accord's "feels like a sports car's when compared with the boatlike steering in the Lexus LS 460. I'd take the Accord over the LS 460 every time."
