Road Test: 2005 Bentley Arnage T
Despite a curb weight of some 5700 leather-lined pounds, the big T remains a sprinter, thanks to its familiar 450-horsepower, twin-turbo 6.75-liter V-8. The chassis enhancements fostered by parent company Volkswagen encourage deeper exploration of the engine's might--for all of its mass, the new T handles quite enthusiastically.
With a base price of nearly a quarter-million bucks, the 2005 Arnage T runs in rarefied air indeed. But it's a compelling choice for the pampered set--sportier and less "I'm filthy with it" than the Rolls Phantom, more charismatic than the Maybach 57. If Ms. Anderson drove by in one, you might even notice her second.
