Jeep has gone beyond cinematic product placement to offering a production version of its screen star as a special Rubicon joins Lara Croft on the big screen this summer. Based on the current Rubicon and designed and created especially for the movie, the Tomb Raider model features 16-inch Alcoa forged aluminum wheels, special badging, and an abundance of Mopar accessories including light bar, tubular grille guard, diamond-plate bumper guard, rock rails, fog lamps with brush guards, and riveted fender flares. The Bright Silver rock-climber features Dark Slate fabric seats with red accents, and silver instrument bezels. Under all that gadgetry, the Rubicon has been engineered to take on the most demanding trails, thanks to hard-core Dana 44 axles with front and rear driver-actuated locking differentials, four-wheel disc brakes, Rock-Track 4:1 low-range transfer case, and maximum traction reinforced 31-inch-tall tires. Underhood resides Jeep's 4.0-liter/190-horsepower PowerTech I-6 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Pricing for the limited edition rock-crawling convertible is set at $28,815, including destination.
