We addressed the SRS warning light that had appeared at the 3991-mile mark during the first scheduled (6000-mile) service. It turned out to be a defective clock spring in the steering-wheel-mounted airbag, which the dealer replaced under warranty. They also changed the engine oil and filter, rotated the tires, checked the fluids, and performed the usual visual inspections. Comments are amassing about where the Pacifica really fits into the automotive landscape; many editors feel it answers a question nobody seems to have asked. "I can't help but wonder who'd buy this over a less-expensive minivan." "Some nice executions, but not a concept that works for me." "My first impression leaves me wondering what else I could buy for $38K." Time--and sales numbers--will tell how consumers ultimately feel.
From The Logbook
"The Pacifica tries to blend the best of SUVs and minivans, but fails to deliver the benefits of either."
