His future: Cerberus now is frank about trying to get out of the auto business. Nardelli told a Senate hearing on Capitol Hill that Chrysler had considered filing for bankruptcy before the Detroit Three began their federal aid push. Whatever happens in 2009, it is becoming increasingly clear that Chrysler as we know it is history.
Nardelli gets credit for: Offering to slash his salary to $1 per year, just like Lee Iacocca. Of course, he can live off that golden parachute from Home Depot.
