His part in One Ford: With Ford unifying its small and C/D-midsize cars globally, Smith's "Kinetic Design" language comes to North America. The lower fascia on the 2010 Fusion shows the first steps. Next in the pipeline: 2011 Focus and Fiesta.
Why that's important: It acknowledges that good design in Europe is good design in the New World. Motor Trend readers have been clamoring for the European midsize Mondeo for a couple years now.
