Why he's on this list: GM is said to have lobbied Bush Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson last year for TARP money to buy Chrysler, for a merger of broken equals.
And? Snow was Bush's first Treasury secretary. While Paulson didn't lift a finger, the deal has Snow's fingerprints all over it.
Now what? Cerberus has gone from claims it's in the car business for the long run to trying to sell Chrysler. Snow will be a key exec in finding someone with money to burn.
What are the chances of that? Poor. China's auto market has dried up, too. And did Congress want to provide loan guarantees to an automaker that could become part of a foreign company?
