Background: Started with GM in 1991 as product engineer with Adam Opel's tech development center in Russelsheim, Germany. Held leadership positions in product planning and program management, and advanced engineering activities.
And now: In March 2007, got the newly created job of global vehicle line exec and global vehicle chief engineer for the Global E-Flex systems. Responsible for making sure the Chevy Volt hits the road in 2010.
Will that happen? Now it's limited by finances, not battery technology.
